Paramedic of ArkGPI medical center named after I. Altynsarin Bekbosynov Kunsulu carries out systematic preventive work with students to prevent viral diseases. On February 4, discussions were held with university students of all courses on the prevention of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and coronavirus infection.
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses (39 species are known) that do not have DNA; their genome is found in RNA macromolecules. This type of virus is able to infect a number of animals, as well as humans. Mostly they cause respiratory diseases - from mild forms of acute respiratory viral infections to SARS. At the moment, the causative agent of the disease is a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Among the symptoms of infection with human coronavirus: fever, cough, shortness of breath, at the first sign it looks like SARS or the flu. It may also be similar to intestinal flu, accompanied by diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. The period of development of the disease is on average 7 days, there are cases of development of malaise within 2 to 14 days. For similar symptoms, consult a doctor.
Prevention with coronavirus is the same as with influenza: wash hands, use medical masks, avoid mass crowds, do wet cleaning with disinfectants, ventilate rooms, boil meat and eggs well, boil milk before eating.
